I have to say, I was disappointed by our first visit, but boy did they redeem themselves 2 days later. Their opening day had a few unfortunate mishaps, wait times were lengthy, etc. But when we returned a few days later, those kinks were gone and I am so glad we gave them a second chance.
Where to begin?
First of all, the owners Ed & Gail and their staff couldnt be nicer. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere to everyone who enters the door.
The decor is lovely with nice big windows for a view of the outdoors. Comfortable tables & chairs. Clean restrooms.
And then.......there's the FOOD, which is of course the main reason to go there.
My husband had a burger and fries, which he chowed down on pretty quickly. He's not
a "foodie" like I am, so he didnt offer up much chat as he was eating. But, I've been
married to him long enough to know he was enjoying his meal. (I stole a french fry or two
and they were perfect. Crisp on the outside, soft on the inside. Perfect golden yumminess)
I had a medium steak, mashed potatoes and broccoli slaw.
Now, I have to admit I am extremely picky about steak. Medium doneness can be
tricky to achieve, so I watch carefully how it looks on my first cut.
This steak was so tender, I barely needed a knife to cut it. Perfect pinkness, nice a juicy with just a hint of red. Perfect grill marks too. The seasonings added just the right amount of flavor.
The broccoli slaw was amazing!. Raisins, onions, shredded broccoli, sesame seeds. Just a lovely blend of flavors.
My favorite for sure, was the cappuccino. Perfect blend of expresso and scalded milk. Much better than anything Starbucks ever served up.
I seriously applaud this wonderful restaurant and hope all of you will give them a try.
We plan to go there often.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Paula D.Meridian, TX3841Sep 19, 2018
This was our first visit to this restaurant. The staff was super friendly, and the restaurant was clean. I had the Philly cheesesteak; it was delicious. My husband had the waffles- he said the were wonderful. The espresso was fantastic. We will be back for sure.

Stopped in at 1pm for lunch/breakfast. Sign states Breakfast All Day. Sat down and asked for breakfast menu. Waitress said they weren't set up for breakfast and there was no breakfast menu. I told her what the sign said and she just kept repeating they weren't set up for breakfast and didn't serve breakfast. What a disappointment especially when that's the first thing mentioned on the sign. Might give them a try a lot later on. They seem very very disorganized.
Thank you for the response. Will try you later on but you might want to explain that to your waitress. If she had told us that to begin with there would not have been a problem. She didn't appear to know what was going on.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Update 10/27/18. Nita, that full menu I mentioned in my original reply is now in full force. Also, we are now open at 7 AM Monday through Saturday specifically to address breakfast during breakfast time. This includes waffles, pancakes, fried eggs, biscuits and gravy, omelettes, french toast, eggs in a basket, and breakfast burritos. We also serve regular coffee, fresh-ground and roasted locally by Heart of Texas Coffee of Valley Mills. We also have a top-notch Italian two-group espresso machine so Americanos, Lattes, Cappuccinos, and straight-up espresso is standard fare. All of our wait staff know the menu well now so there should be no mishaps with someone not knowing at 7 AM that we don't serve breakfast :-). We close at 2 PM now, but we will serve everything on the breakfast menu all day up until closing.
(Original Response)
Sorry to disappoint on your first visit Nita! Yes we had to limit our menu due to a cooler breakdown and yes that has caused a fair amount of disorganization. We will be making good on what the sign says; however. For example, tomorrow we are serving "Prairie Scrambled Egg Combo" special that will include eggs, toast, bacon, and hash browns ($6.99). We will continue to have a breakfast special each day until we return to the full menu next month. Thanks for your feedback. - Elisabeth D.Fort Worth, TX558Oct 27, 2018
Steaks were bleeding when brought out after ordering well done. We sent them back and they finished cooking them but they tasted bad. My daughter's pork chop was undercooked and sent back as well. Sides were horrible as well. Yea is not brewed yuck Wait staff not friendly and the food is over priced. Great location

Elizabeth, we can only pray that somehow your review was meant for another place. Either that or we deserve this "evil parallel universe version" of Chuckwagon Vittles. We'd like to dig a little deeper and get to the bottom of this. The management team would like to know exactly when you were here. We can then interview the staff who was clocked in at the time and figure out what happened. Such a critical review is certainly important for us to fully understand and verify.
Let us respectfully review your points:
1. Pricing. We have done a lot of demographic and socio-graphic research to set our pricing. Our 12-oz Angus Ribeye meal, which includes mashed potatoes and veggie is $14.75. The Chops are 10 oz with the same sides at $13.75. We reckon that's competitive based on similar grade meats served in restaurants locally. Tell us please what price would be not "over-priced?"
2. Your meal of two well-done steaks and a pork chop. Elizabeth, we have pored through every single meal ticket in our point of sale terminal since our opening on August 20th. The management has also interviewed all the servers and chefs. According to our paper and electronic records and also the recollection of our staff, we haven't served this particular combination of multiple steaks and a pork chop to a single table for a family. Multiple steak orders for a single table is memorable and we've not had two ordered as well done for the same table in months. The head-scratcher here is multiple steaks WITH a pork chop. That's why we thought maybe you got us confused with another place?
While we will happily warm or re-cook meats that do not meet with a customer's approval, it is unprecedented for us to serve a steak that is "bloody" when ordered as well-done. All of our chefs know that a well-done ribeye takes between 23 and 25 minutes depending on thickness. We temperature probe all of our steaks (well done is 155 degrees) and chops (165 degrees) before serving.
3. Sides. We are curious about the exact sides you ordered and what was wrong with them? We do change-up the veggie of the day from time to time so if we can understand exactly what you were served, we can get to the bottom of this.
4. Friendliness. We are stumped by your "not friendly" comment. Our servers chat up customers and even entertain and joke with them. In fact we have to reel them in sometimes. Must have been a terrible day for any of them to be characterized as not friendly. Take a look at all the reviews on Facebook and even here on Yelp. Our friendliness is kind of a hallmark. Admittedly everyone has a bad day, so we are sorry if you caught us on one of those days...
5. Tea. You say our tea is not "brewed." Depends on the tea. We use Gold Peak sweet and unsweet tea and yes, that is not brewed here. But we also serve Chai Tea lattes, hot teas, and even premium teas that are brewed here.
6. Great Location. Thank you for this. We chose an easy-access corner right across from the car wash here in Clifton. Nice ADA ramp and parking as well.
If we truly deserve this review, we've got our work cut out for us to win you back.
