Tecate Horse Rescue is a 501©3 nonprofit:  FEIN 88-3340447.  Founded July 4, 2022, we have rescued 85 horses, ponies, mules, and donkeys directly from kill pens, the slaughterhouse and owner surrender.  We have found loving forever homes for 38 so far.  We would be able to save more but require more volunteers, staff, supplies and resources.

We provide medical care, nutrition, shelter, and safety for each animal.  We are a small operation; it costs us approximately $1500 to rescue one animal and feed and care for it for three months. 

Each animal is assessed to determine rehabilitation, rehoming, or pasture placement.
